During the first two days of Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamps 2, we have been experimenting with new ways to use our background stamps. Here, I created a background image using the technique Shari Carroll shared.

Inking the background stamp with Distress Inks and misting it with water created an interesting background, but the Tiny Flags stamp by Hero Arts needed a little more texture to pull the card together for me.

I decided to make a stencil out of the Triangle Background Fancy Die by Hero Arts and spread a bit of Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste over the triangles. Because the die and stamp do not line up, it created an interesting visual effect that I just love; plus you can still see the color through the embossing paste.

Then I heat embossed a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Favorite Flowers stamp set. The white embossing powder on vellum has just enough opacity to continue the see-through look I was going for.

I loved this so much I called it my favorite. That sentiment is meant for the background. 🙂
