Go on and Celebrate

Go On and Celebrate by shawnmanuel.com

Here’s a bright card I made for my friend Nina’s birthday. The watercolor background carries on a watercolor theme that I’ve been hooked on this Summer.

I squished some Distress Ink on a craft mat, misted it with water and dropped my watercolor paper onto the ink to create the background. After drying it with my heat tool, I dropped the paper back onto the ink a few times to create a more random pattern.

The popsicles from Simon Says Stamp’s August Card Kit and the sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Make a Wish stamp set were heat embossed with white powder. Since the sentiment was hard to read, I used Distress Markers to create a shadow and add contrast.

Glossy Accents was used to give the popsicles a melting look and to add shine to the die-cut hearts.
